5 Signs Your Website Needs to Be Replaced

Many small businesses have a website that once looked good — but "once" was 5, 8, or sometimes 10 years ago. The problem? The internet has changed. Your customers have changed. And your website looks like it belongs to a different era.

1. It Looks Terrible on a Phone

Open your website on your phone. Is the text too small? Do you have to scroll sideways? Does the menu not work? Most of your customers land on your site from a phone. If they have to struggle to read anything — they close the tab and call your competitor.

2. It Loads Slowly

Try this test: open your website and count to three. If the page hasn't loaded by then — you're losing customers. People don't wait. A slow site is usually caused by old technology, unoptimized images, or cheap hosting. All of these are fixable.

3. Your Phone Number or Address Is Hard to Find

A customer visits your site because they want to contact you. If they have to click through three pages to find your phone number — they probably won't bother. Your number, address, and opening hours should be visible immediately, on every page.

4. The Content Is Outdated

"Christmas promotion 2021" still on the homepage? Services you no longer offer? Old photos taken with a phone? An outdated website tells customers: "this place is probably closed". That's the exact opposite message you want to send.

5. You Have No Idea How Many People Visit Your Site

If you don't have Google Analytics connected (or don't know what it is) — your website is operating blind. You don't know where customers come from, how long they spend on your site, or which pages they look at. Without data, you can't make good business decisions.
