Why Your Business Doesn't Show Up on Google

April 18, 20266 min read

Picture this: a customer in your area types "carpenter Kraków" or "dentist Nowa Huta" into Google. A list of businesses pops up — but yours isn't on it. Your competitors are, though. Sound familiar?

This isn't about luck. Google doesn't randomly pick who to show. If your business is invisible, there's a specific reason for it — usually several at once.

1. You Don't Have a Google Business Profile

This is the absolute foundation. Google Business Profile is a free tool that lets your business appear on Google Maps and in local search results. Without it, you're practically invisible to customers searching for services "near me". Setting it up takes 15 minutes — and you can see results within days.

2. Your Website Isn't Optimized for SEO

You have a website, but Google doesn't "understand" it? That's a common problem. No proper headings, no service descriptions with city names, no meta tags — to Google, your site is like a book without a title or table of contents. It doesn't know what it's about, so it doesn't show it to anyone.

3. Your Site Is Slow or Unreadable on Mobile

Over 70% of local searches happen on mobile. If your site takes more than 3 seconds to load or the text is too small to read — Google sees it and pushes your ranking down. The customer sees it too and goes back to pick someone else.

4. Your Website Is Outdated (or Doesn't Exist at All)

A website from 2015 on free hosting? Or just a Facebook profile? Google rewards fresh, up-to-date content. A site that hasn't been updated in years drops in rankings. And no website means the only thing Google can show is your social media profile — if it even finds it.

The good news? Every single one of these problems is fixable. A professional website optimized for SEO and mobile devices is an investment that pays for itself with new customers every month.

One of the fastest ways to show up on Google is setting up a Google Business Profile. We've prepared a step-by-step guide.
